Absolut Vodka Ice Bar London

I’ve always wanted to go to an ice bar and finally got the chance when I went last saturday when I was down in London! We went to the one off Regent Street and was quite exciting! We got there and they kindly let us put my cake behind the reception rather than in the cloakroom and we all lined up and got dressed in capes!

We had reservations which is recommended so you can guarantee your place so luckily we didn’t wait long…

As soon as we walked in it was cold already! I can see why your only allowed 40 mins inside as I couldn’t really hack it after about 30 mins plus there was no sit down so not only was I getting very chilly but my feet were hurting from standing!

Image

But it was so cool everything, literally everything is made from ice including the cups and tables!

We got a free drink with the reservation and ticket (£16) so I got a nice red drink (can’t remember what it was though!)

Image

I love the hoods on the capes..

Image

Ice wall..

It’s really fun inside, but it is quite a novelty – I couldn’t picture myself going there every saturday night! Worth a visit though, not really for the drinks, but more for the ice!

Sanderson Hotel Mad Hatters Tea

I’ve been wanting to go to something like this for a while now and finally found the perfect one to go to at the Sanderson hotel London! It’s called the Mad Hatters Tea and all the food is themed around Alice In Wonderland!

To drink I decided to try the Vivid Hour…Raspberry Vodka with raspberries and grapefruit…it was really yummy and fruity berry flavoured..

Image

My boyfriend had the Appry N’Jazz… Vodka with apricot and jam and cranberry juice..

Image

I tried a bit but didn’t really enjoy it as I don’t like apricot flavoured things!

Here’s our Tea platter …

Image

Doesn’t it look amazing!! They came with sandwiches which ranged from:

Ham & Mustard

Salmon

Egg Mayo

Cucumber (which I left)

Image

MMM the sandwiches I did eat were really good, shame they were just so small!

Now I don’t like scones so didn’t eat those either, but next I moved on to the Chocolate Hazelnut Praline Ice Cream Lollipop…

Image

I think that lollipop was my favourite of the whole thing.. apparently your suppose to leave it in your mouth and it just melts but mine sort of fell off the stick as soon as I put it in my mouth so I ended up biting it, but was still delicious…

Image

Image

Here’s the bottom part of the tea…

Image

The chocolate cake was really good, bit sweet ..

Image

The big red heart was actually strawberry mousse inside and was good – a little too much strawberry for me but still enjoyed it…

Image

The ‘drink me’ was really good actually, I wasn’t sure what was inside and it looked like it was in 3 layers, but it was very tropical tasting..

Image

Image

The last thing I ate was the raspberry lollipop! Looks great and was cool on one side and then warmer on the other side …

Image

Image

Really enjoyed this tea session and everything looks so great! Bit expensive (£35 per person) but the experience is second to none!

OXO Tower Harvey Nichols Restaurant London

For my birthday dinner, my boyfriend took me to the OXO Tower Restaurant which is actually a Harvey Nichols restaurant which I was a bit confused about as I didn’t know they just did restaurants (usually it’s on the top floor of one of their department stores!) and it has a great view over London and with the Olympic opening ceremony on that night I thought we’d get some good fireworks view!

Image

Wearing my AQUABYAQUA Floyd dress and my Kandee Lemonade Heels ..plus ahem Primark clutch bag!

The restaurant was lovely inside I felt a bit like I was on a garden roof terrace having a garden party as there was a lot of bunting going on and I loved the service and staff! Everyone was so nice and they recommended some great dishes. I was a bit nervous about whether I’d like the food or not as when you read the description on the menu, it all sounds so complicated and fancy and I’m extremely fussy, but nope the food was AMAZING!

Image

The restaurant had a lot of blue lighting which made everything look well ..blue!

For drinks I got a Sipsmith summer fruit cup which is basically a Pimms with gin.. and I do love my Pimms!

Image

Delicious!

Now the starter I was really excited about as it sounded so good on the menu plus I’d be starving myself all day for this dinner was hungry too! I ordered the Devon Crab with Sweetcorn ice cream, Crab sauce and Corn bread. I have to admit one of the main reasons I chose this starter was because not only do I love crab (I love seafood except mussels and oysters and prawns!) but it was one of the few starters that seemed to not have vegetables! Winner!

The portion was a bit small…

Image

… but it was delicious! I loved every single bite, the ice cream worked really well with the flakes of crab and I did think sweetcorn ice cream was a bit odd, but it was more like a sweetcorn sauce/paste. The corn bread also went perfectly alongside it all. I was really tempted to order a 2nd portion, but I resisted! I’d definitely go back just to eat this alone.. yes it was a bit pricey, but wow it was good!

Image

My boyfriend ordered the Smoked Duck salad for starter (and for main as well!) and it came with some popcorn which was weird! Never know popcorn to go well with duck, but he said it was really nice!

I also ordered a classic Cosmopolitan to drink and it was so pink (and very strong), I loved it!

Image

Our mains came and I had ordered the Sea bass with Razor clams, Champagne sauce and herb risotto (which I switched for potatoes instead as I don’t like risotto!)

Image

Presented lovely and so tasty! The fish was cooked perfectly, the outside was nice and crispy and the flavour was great – not too full on which is what I like! The champagne sauce was nice and frothy and really complimented the fish! When it arrived, I’d actually forgotten about the clams which were hidden underneath the spring onions which is probably why I didn’t noticed them at first, but gave the clams a try and despite being small, they were really good – a bit like squid texture!

Was glad I got potatoes too as they really filled me up with the fish..

Image

Again my boyfriend ordered another Duck dish! This was the Duck breast with confit leg lasagne and some artichokes.

Image

I tried some of the duck and it was really nice, but for me personally it was a bit tough as my boyfriend ordered it well done, I think a medium would’ve suited me more!

For dessert my boyfriend had a espresso martini…

Image

Yum – for desert now this was a bit of a hard choice, but in the end we went for the Blueberry Souffle with buttermilk and lemon ice cream and some mini muffins. This was really good and there was a bit of a show with it as well! When it arrived at our table, our waiter scooped up the ice cream and slowly placed it on top of the souffle and allowed it to melt into it, WOWEE it looked good! He then poured blueberry sauce all over it and we just watched the whole thing melt together…

Image

Mmm it was amazingly soft, warm and cooked just right – you definitely need at least 2 people to finish it though as that pot it’s in is quite deep!

Image

Image

Now this part was a real SURPRISE!

My boyfriend (he told me all this before the surprise actually hadn’t so ruined it a bit!) had called up earlier to tell them it was my birthday and asked whether they could maybe do something for it and tbh I was a bit suspicious as when they took the desert order, all the waiters gathered round the computer looking a bit confused and pointing at our table so I knew something had to be up! After a while the waiter came along and brought me this ….

Image

Obviously I wanted to get a picture with it, so I was a bit surprised when the waiter asked if he could get a picture of me and my boyfriend on his camera! I assumed it was for maybe a website or facebook page something along those lines, but no this is what it was actually for..

Image

Image

Amazing! I loved every single bit of going to the OXO tower for dinner! Yes it’s a bit expensive so you probably wouldn’t go every night, but for a special occasion it’s great! The food is spectacular, atmospheres great and the service – fantastic! Highly recommend this place and I would most definitely LOVE to go again!

Primark Pink Shoulder Handbag & White Clutch

Did a teenie bit of shopping today. Hadn’t actually bought much but thought I’d go have a gander in Primark (Primarni as I prefer to call it!) even though I usually detest going in there mainly because of the amount of crowds, crappy quality of well nearly everything and disorganisation and messiness of the whole shop! Plus more clothes are on the floor than on the hangers, but it was near closing time and was quiet so went to go look at some handbags and some jewellery!

I don’t bother looking at the clothes unless it’s for fancy dress as the quality is just not for me, plus there’s so much to get through I don’t have the patience to battle other women for it!

But saw a lovely white clutch bag and let’s face it you can never have enough clutches! It was £6.. couldn’t decide if that was steep or not, but if it was £4 I most likely would’ve gotten the black colour too…

Image

It has an ugly gold chain that can be used if you want to wear it over the shoulders, but like all my other Primark bags that have this, I tend to keep it hidden away inside!

The next bag I got was this super cute pink bow handbag! I love the shape and the size of it and the fact it’s dusty pink is even better! Hopefully despite it being Primark quality, I can look after this bag well and it won’t break!

Image

It also came in a dark mint colour which I wasn’t keen on and I think they had it in black too which I may get, if I find the bag useful! But for £8 not bad! Not bad indeed..

Image

More realistic photo showing the colour..

Image

Very cute summery bag.. it’s a shame England hasn’t had summer yet….

Lola’s Showgirl Cupcake

It was my 24th birthday on Friday (27th July)!!

I got woken up to see this amazing Lola’s showgirl giant cupcake cake that my boyfriend gave me! I’d wanted one for ages but obviously only get one birthday a year and last year I went to Disneyland so would’ve been pretty tricky to carry it all the way!

So I was ecstatic to have finally gotten one and in vanilla too! YUMMY!

It’s so big!

There were 7 of us for dinner and we could only manage about half it

MMM vanilla flavour! However as amazing as it looks its pretty difficult to cut and put into slices! You’d need a good 20 people I reckon for everyone to get a ‘normal’ size or atleast 15 people for a large slice!

The actual sponge was really good though! Lola’s do have great quality cupcakes and one of my favourite ones to get is the oreo cookie one as I LOVE that the icing is made from oreo cookies as well!

This was one of their mini cupcakes which are literally one bite size! Still extremely tasty though!

A full size Oreo cupcake with a chocolate cupcake! .. they do indeed taste as good as they look! Highly recommend Lola’s as it’s so yummy and every single one is perfect in taste and decoration!

…except for these ones I dropped….

AQUABYAQUA Nicks Bodysuit & Klingon Skirt

Was a bit bored this afternoon so with my birthday just around the corner, I decided to try on a few of my outfits and see what I would wear for my birthday!

For my actual birthday dinner I think I’m going to go with my AQUABYAQUA Floyd Dress and my Kandee Lemonade Heels

Image

AQUABYAQUA Floyd Dress in Sulphur Spring – size 8

Image

Kandee Lemonade Heels – size 3/36

So that’s my dinner night outfit sorted out I think, but here’s what I’m thinking for my night out for more dinner and the Vodka Ice Bar in London!

Image

I love the Nicks Bodysuit I got from Aqua Couture when they first released it last autumn, but it does show a lot of boob and cleavage so hopefully I won’t fall out of it!

Image

My Klingon Skirt in nude colour, also from Aqua Couture, this is actually a size 6 as although I have wide hips, my waist is quite small and I like my skirts sitting quite high! I think the nude and the white colour look nice together and something nice and neutral like for summer!

The bar belt is from Aqua Couture’s current season accessories and I love it! In fact I bought the actual belt, but then received 2 more of the same belt with other dresses I’d bought so had to sell 2 of them, but it is a great accessory to add of a bit of metal to the outfit!

Here it is all put together with my Kandee Lemonade heels…(imagine some fake tan on my legs)

Love how the Kandee shoes give it that extra sparkle on my feet! Here’s to being 24!!

Kandee Shoes Superfan

21st July 2012 – Mr Kandee held the first birthday party on Twitter!

Yesterday was the amazing day that Mr Kandee and Kandee Shoes offered 9 lucky people the chance to become a Kandee SUPERFAN and win exclusive goodies worth up to £500!

Image

So I as much as I really wanted to win, I was more curious as to see what Kandee shoes actually had planned for Mr Kandee’s special day! So I set my alarm, which I didn’t really need as I didn’t sleep well that night and 8am I was ready to party!!

For the next 9 hours Mr Kandee would chose 1 winner every hour who would become a superfan and as soon as it kicked off Kandee was trending everywhere!

So I tried my luck anyway and entered each hour as many times as twitter would allow (I set up a new twitter account but some rascal had already taken @rainbowgloss the name I wanted so had to go for @rainbowglossy !!!

– hour 1 – wasn’t meant to be

– hour 2 – sigh still not me

– hour 3 – nada, how do people win these things ?!?

– hour 4 – ‘@rainbowglossy YOU’RE A @KANDEESHOES SUPER FAN!’

WHAT?! Did my eyes deceive me?! I actually won?! HOLD THE PHONE!! OMG I had actually won and become a Kandee Superfan!!!!

I had to check it several times, but NO it was me! I got picked and tbh I couldn’t believe it as not only do I never win anything, but there were so many people who entered all with great tweets and entries, how did little old me get picked?!

To become the 4th Kandee superfan instead of re-tweeting something we were asked to create a lovely birthday card for Mr Kandee’s birthday and I thought ohh I’m not going to win this won as not only can I not draw, I’m not a very creative person either and took me about 40 mins to remotely think of something good!

I looked through what other people had done already and thought hmmmmm I can’t draw and some people are so good at drawing his shoes, I thought I’d just write a message on the tons of Kandee cards I’d received with previous orders and to jazz the picture up a bit I’ll stick one of my Lemonade Heels along side the card!

Here’s what I managed to come up with..

ahem that union jack ‘flag’ is actually one of my pillows from Jack Wills!

So entered my picture in as many times as I could and actually about 4 minutes before the end I had done it and by it I mean reached my twitter limit for the first time! It’s a bit ridiculous that twitter actually has a limit of how many tweets you can send, I mean you don’t see facebook having a limit on how many walls you can write on!

So that was it I couldn’t send any more tweets in, but I guess it paid off as I won!!!! I’m ecstatic that I got chosen and superfan definitely does describe me and my love for Kandee!

I did think it wasn’t real for a while, but when I received a direct message off Kandee asking for my address and shoe size, it had to be true!! On replying to some tweets, I wondered why I couldn’t send any more and thought it was because I had reached the twitter limit, but no it turns out my twitter account had actually been suspended!! Twice as well!!!

Apparently because I tweeted so much to @Kandeeshoes and @MrKandee, I was being ‘abusive’ lol

But here’s to Mr Kandee’s 23rd birthday -what a day it must’ve been for him and I’m so glad I got the chance to be apart of it! I cannot wait to receive my Kandee goody bag and will share all my goodies on here for all to see!

Plus it’s actually my 24th birthday on the 27th July so this is a great early birthday present for me!

Rainbow sparkles in the sun!

Well done to my fellow Kandee superfan’s and commiserations to those who didn’t win, I know the feeling well, but don’t worry it’ll be your turn one day!!

Kurt Geiger Imogene Heels

Got these bad boys in the Kurt Geiger sale over a year ago and when I saw them on the website I fell in love with them! They were glittery and tall with bows and gems on them, just what I wanted!

They look a bit more grey on the website, but they are fully black with black glitter and bows! Image

Aren’t they lovely? …

Image

They were a tiny bit big for me near the toe area maybe my toes aren’t long enough, but nevertheless they were still quite comfy! Managed to party all night them with only a few toes getting a bit sore – not bad for a first wear!

Image

I find that they are more of a Christmassy pair of heels rather than regular heels as they’ve got such a glittery heel and platform plus the bows give it that extra something to make my feet look pretty!

Image

Pretty strappy sandals…

Kurt Geiger shoes are always a great investment, especially when they’ve got a sale on! Take advantage quick…http://www.kurtgeiger.com/women/shoes.html
