Pink was always my favourite colour and these bad boys are absolute winners!

Johnny Fontanes Leeds

Driving past me and my sister decided to try this new burger restaurant in Leeds called Johnny Fontanes (bit of an odd name!) I’m assuming they’re going for the classic american diner look!

Anyway I was looking forward to it and when we went on Sunday lunch time, it was so quiet! At least we got served relatively quickly! I looked at the menu which I have to say is tiny! There really isn’t much variety which could well be their downfall as if you don’t like burgers or fried chicken you’re stuck!

I got a peanut butter milkshake (again not much milkshake options here, if they offered more like what they offer in Tinseltown London, I’m sure they would be more busy!)

Image

The milkshake was nice – I was abit confused why it was white coloured when normally a peanut butter shake would be a bit brown! Oh well.. for main I got a classic cheese burger and some cajun fries..

Image

The burger was actually really nice, the meat and bun was very soft, cooked just right and I finished it all as it was really tasty!! The chips were quite a lot so didn’t manage to finish those though!

Image

My sister ordered the large appetiser plater and yeah its large…

Image

It comes with chicken wings, onion rings and both normal fries and cajun fries!

TBH you get a lot for your money – it’s not overpriced (2 milkshakes, 1 cheeseburger and fries and large appetiser was less than £20) and the food was good too, the only thing that’s a shame is the location of the restaurant makes it perhaps unknown and therefore it’s quiet there so not much of an atmosphere!

If you want a good burger along the lines of Gourmet Burger Kitchen then Johnny Fontanes will be right up your street!

The Making Of Harry Potter – WB Studio Harry Potter Tour

Last Christmas my boyfriend got me tickets to go to the new Harry Potter tour as I love Harry Potter, but as it’s near London and I live in Leeds, it was a bit tricky trying to find a good time to go so I decided in the end to go for my birthday!

I ended up booking the actual date about 2 months in advance and was glad I didn’t leave it any later as dates and times book up quickly!

Image

So we made our way to outer London where the tour was and read that there’s a shuttle bus that takes you but it’s only once every half an hour!! As we were running a bit late there was no way we had time to wait for the bus so we ended up getting a taxi! It’s about 15 mins from the nearest train station so you definitely want to get there early in order to not miss your time slot!

Image

It was pretty packed inside – alot busier than I though! But as soon as you arrive outside everything is Harry Potter!!

Image

The gift shop is to the right when you walk in and although I was super tempted to go inside I thought I should wait until the end as I didn’t want to be carrying things around with me! The queue is quite long and we had to wait at least 20 minutes to get in…you get to see the cupboard under the stairs though while you wait…

Image

Now when you go in the outer holding room as I called it, you get to see a mini video then you go through to the cinema room bit where there’s a massive screen and they show you a little film. Unfortunately me and my bf were a bit slow at getting seats and had to sit apart  from each other – so be quick at getting seats, people are a bit dog eat dog there!

Once the little film is over the screen actually lifts up to reveal the doors to the Great Hall! Exciting!!

Image

Image

One thing that annoyed me was that the tour guide, who only goes with you into the Great Hall kept getting in the way of all my photos! I would’ve liked pictures of the giant door without her standing in the way! Oh well..

The doors open and you get to see the Great Hall which is actually big, but a lot smaller than you see it in the films, but still there’s a lot of detail everywhere!

Image

There’s also mannequins with the 4 houses and their uniform..Image

Ravenclaw

Image

Slytherin

Image

Hufflepuff

Image

Gryffindor – plus Neville’s famous cardigan!

Image

At the top table there’s all the teachers costumes too..

Image

Image

After the Great Hall you walk through to the main bit and see all the props and this is where there’s so much to see!

Starting with the ice castle …

Image

Sadly you couldn’t touch anything, but it still looked cool..

Image

Image

Oh I love the beauxbatons uniform! I would’ve loved to wear that to school everyday!

More costumes from the films – I love Luna’s tinsel dress!!

Image

Image

Some of Umbridge’s school rules – there’s a whole wall full of them!

The Gryffindor boys bedroom ..

Image

Image

It was a bit hard to get a full shot of the whole boys bedroom as it quite wide but still exciting to see each of their beds (you can even see the west ham scarf on Dean Thomas’s bedside table!)

The Gryffindor common room..I personally would’ve loved to see the Slytherin common room too. but I guess as it only features in the one film, it probably wasn’t a fixed set..

Image

Image

So much detail in the whole room – apparently that portrait in the background of the witch with the cat is a young Professor Mcgonagall!

Image

At the top you can see the christmas jumpers Mrs Weasley knitted for Harry and Ron in the first film!

Image

Dumbledore’s office..

The black family tree..

Image

More small props..I loved this bit as there was so much to see and everything was so detailed as well..

Image

Image

Image

Image

After all this it goes to the outdoor set and this is where there’s more interactive stuff to see!..

The knight bus..

Image

me and my bf got to ride in Hagrid’s bike (I got the side car!)

Image

Also here there’s a little shack that sells butterbeer! I’d definitely recommend atleast giving one a try even though they are a bit expensive! It tastes quite odd, in my head I’d imagined they tasted like melted Werther’s originals, but they taste quite butterscotchy at first but after a few sips it does lose it’s flavour and it just tastes like fizzy water! I’m thinking the white frothy bit on top is actually what gives it the sweet flavour..

Image

Too many people standing in the way of No.4 Privet Drive to get a good picture..

Pieces from the giant chess set..

Now one of the best parts… DIAGON ALLEY!

The finale: HOGWARTS CASTLE…

Image

Image

Image

The lights go down every few minutes and the lights inside the castle go on…

Image

Image

Image

It then goes through to a wand room where each box is labelled with a different persons name..

Image

then the ultimate GIFT SHOP..

Image

Image

Chocolate frogs!! (yes they were a bit expensive – everything in the gift shop was, but it’s all part of the experience!)

Image

I loved the Slytherin stuff, the one thing I was definitely going to buy was a Slytherin scarf, only problem was I couldn’t decide which one..

Image

In the end I got the one with the snake on that said Slytherin as I thought that was the original one, but now I kinda wish I’d gotten the other one as that one is more practical! Oh well..Image

Image

All in all I loved the tour! There was so much to see and so much I wanted to buy too! You definitely need a good 3 hours to have a good look at everything.. I mean if your only going to go once you don’t want to rush your visit!

I took over 500 pictures and these ones on here are just a few of my best favourite pictures so don’t forget your camera! I’d love to go back again as theres probably some things I missed that I’d like to see again!

Here’s the things I bought from the gift shop..

Image

Image

The scarf I bought..

Image

Image

Bertie Bott’s every flavour beans.. there are some proper nasty flavours..

Image

Just some of the flavours..

Image

My chocolate frog…

Image

Image

The magical witch/wizard I received with my frog.. Rowena Ravenclaw!

Team Slytherin…

Next trip.. Universal Studios Harry Potter World!!!

Carluccio’s Leeds

Italian is by far my most favourite food and my diet pretty much consists of Carbonara pasta so my sister wanted to try Carluccio’s in town as we’d never been there before, but heard it was nice there.

There’s a little shop inside the restaurant which is quite cool as they sell lots of their sauces and had a mini bakery too which all looked really good so was really looking forward to eating!

Image

For starters I ordered the fried Calamari which was actually really nice..

Image

It was really crispy, you got plenty of pieces and overall tasted really nice and fresh, plus it wasn’t soggy mmm

My sister ordered the tuna fishcake for starter..

Image

For my main as usual I got the Carbonara however I asked for Penne instead of Spaghetti as I find Spaghetti hard to eat! The waitress wrote it down that I wanted penne however when it came it was spaghetti so had to have it sent back! It didn’t take too long for a new one to come..

Image

The sauce was a bit watery but it was quite nice although the bacon was a tad bit salty. Not my favourite Carbonara i’ve ever had, but edible! I think I actually preferred the calamari over the carbonara too!

My sister had some chicken with parma ham on it and although it was quite pricey (I think £12 region) it was quite a small portion..

 Image

Overall it was ok there, I’d go back for the starter for sure, but doubt i’d go there regularly, but worth a try I guess!

The Pretty Dress Company Black Chelsea Dress

As one of the prizes from Kandee shoes after winning the super fan competition, The Pretty Dress Company gave us a FREE dress of our choice! I’ll admit when I first read the the gift certificate I thought it was some money off a dress, not actually one whole free dress!!

So I got round to going on their website and WOWEE they have some great structured dresses! I loved them and it was really hard picking just one to have so I though I’d play it safe and order a lovely black pencil dress with a peplum frill that I could wear to work..

Image

I arrived quickly to my surprise and I absolutely LOVE it! It fits like a dream the materials quite stretchy and I was abit worried it’d be too long as I’m very short, but it’s actually just right!

Image

I’d love to get another style as I couldn’t decide for ages and they have some really great dresses on their website! So maybe when I’ve got a bit more money I’ll get another one …

have a gander …http://www.theprettydresscompany.com/

Primark Diamante Pumps – Nude & Black

So I absolutely LOVE KANDEE shoes and I really really loved the Lemonade pumps they had ..

Image

However sadly I had ordered a different set of pumps (Peanut Butter crunchy pumps) on sale and they didn’t fit me so I knew the Lemonade would not fit me either *sad face*

But I was determined to get this type of pump somewhere else and luckily I saw a very similar one in ZARA however I didn’t realise they were on sale, so I didn’t buy them when I saw them as I didn’t have much money at the time (I really regret this!)

So my search continued and just as I was browsing in Primark to buy some cheap plimsolls, I walked past these nude bad boys! However they were all size 6’s which I am not! So I settled for the black version of the pumps and decided I’d have to revisit Primark to try and get them in my size!

Eventually after about 7 different trips to 3 different Primarks I finally got them in my size! OH HAPPY DAYS!

Image

I think the black are nice for work, but the nude ones I prefer a lot more (not much of a fan of black shoes unless theres a 6inch heel underneath!)

Image

Image

Obviously as it’s Primark the quality is not as good as Kandee, but nevertheless they’ll do…for now!

One thing I don’t like is that there not encrusted all the way around the pump – something I didn’t discover until after I bought them!

Image

Maybe I’ll buy some more diamantes and stick them on myself…

Rabito Iphone Case

I was browsing on http://www.spoiledbrat.co.uk/ and saw the cutest iphone case! It’s by Rabito and the jist is that the case is in the shape of a rabbit! It’s got long ears and a big fluffy tail on the back of it..so cute!

Image

The best thing about the tail is that it’s actually got several uses..

1. It’s a perfect to stand the phone up

2. Earphones can be wrapped around it

3. It can be used as a screen wipe

4. It’s detachable and adjustable (it’s got a sucky pad at the back)

I absolutely LOVE it..

Image

I think it’s made out of silicon so it’s soft too but will still protect my phone! Plus the ears are a little bit bendy which I like playing with…

Image

I chose the baby pink colour but I was debating between this and fuchsia colour which I also really liked, but I think the baby pink is much cuter!

There are loads available on e-bay but I’m not sure if they’re real as they’re so cheap on there so I would go with a genuine supplier for the real deal! Yeah it’s £30 which is a bit pricey, but this case will definitely last throughout my iphone’s life.
